Van Taxi for Groups of 5 to 7 in Orlando
Yellow Cab of Orlando’s passenger vans seat up to seven passengers, with published room for 6+ standard bags. They are an option for families and groups traveling from MCO, Sanford airport, hotels and parks, or heading to Port Canaveral. Actual luggage fit depends on bag sizes and everything else you bring.
Vans are always in the taxi line at MCO: ask for one. Airport-stand fares are metered. For a prearranged trip, choose Passenger Van in our booking form to see your quote.
Book online and choose Passenger Van, or call (407) 222-2222, 24/7. (407) 422-2222 also works.
Which vehicle fits your group?
Start with the number of people traveling, including children, then count the bags and bulky items. A vehicle’s passenger limit is not a luggage-fit promise. Tell us about a stroller, golf equipment or large cruise cases before deciding that one vehicle is enough.

Will our luggage fit?
Our passenger-van listing says “6+ standard bags.” It does not define suitcase dimensions or promise that seven large checked cases, carry-ons and strollers will fit together. Tell us the total load, not just the number of checked bags. A family with fewer passengers may still need a van because of its luggage.
There are no limits on golf bags or cruise trunks as items you can bring, but that does not mean unlimited luggage fits in one vehicle. Tell us how many you have so we can plan the vehicle arrangement, including additional vehicles if needed. For two or more vans traveling as one group, it is best to call.

How to get a van at the airport
Walk-up vans at MCO
Vans are always in the taxi line at MCO. Ask the starter or driver for a van; when there is demand, you can ask for a van ahead of the sedans. This is not a promise of immediate boarding or no wait.
At Terminal A, follow signs to Level 1 Ground Transportation, spaces A22–A25. At Terminal B, use Level 1, spaces B30–B34. Terminal C’s taxi curb is on Level 6 Arrivals. Follow current airport signs and see our MCO taxi pickup guide for the full directions.
MCO states: “Taxis may carry up to 9 passengers, and charge the same rate regardless of the number of passengers.” Its taxi page also says airport taxicab fares must be determined by a taximeter and flat-rate fees are not authorized. The airport’s up-to-nine statement does not mean Yellow Cab’s seven-seat van carries nine.

Booking ahead
Choose Passenger Van in the website booking form and enter your pickup, destination, passenger count and requested time to see the quote for your trip. Tell dispatch about the luggage, bulky items and any child-seat needs. For an airport arrival, have your flight and terminal details ready.
For a prearranged MCO pickup, confirm the meeting point and fare with dispatch. Do not assume the online arrangement means meeting at the walk-up taxi queue. If you need two or more vans, call rather than treating one online booking as a reservation for several vehicles.
Sanford airport
Our SFB published per-vehicle rates are the same for a sedan, a van for up to seven passengers or a wheelchair-accessible vehicle. Check the destination covered by the rate; do not apply a Sanford rate to an MCO pickup.
Sanford airport lists designated pickup areas across the street from Baggage Claim 1–3. Follow current airport signs and confirm your particular pickup arrangement. See SFB’s transportation information for the airport’s guidance.
Choose Passenger Van online, or call (407) 222-2222 to discuss your group.
Does a van cost more?
For MCO’s taxi stands, use the airport’s metered-fare and passenger-count rules above. For covered trips from Sanford, consult our published per-vehicle rates. For other trips, choose Passenger Van in the booking form to see the quote for your trip.
This page does not compare van and sedan prices for other journeys or publish a fare table. The MCO taxi guide and SFB rate guide explain the relevant airport arrangements.
Taxi van vs UberXL and Lyft XL
Compare the number of riders first, then the luggage space. UberXL and Lyft XL describe capacity for up to six riders; Yellow Cab’s passenger van seats up to seven. For seven people using those XL options, you would need more than one vehicle. A six-person limit does not increase because one passenger is a child.

Planning common group trips
Families going to Disney or Universal
Count everyone in your party and include child seats and strollers in your luggage description. Give the full hotel or park name rather than just “Disney” or “Universal.” Use our MCO–Disney, MCO–Universal and Disney–Universal guides for destination-specific planning.
Cruise groups and golf trips
For Port Canaveral, provide the cruise terminal along with your passenger and luggage counts. There are no limits on cruise trunks or golf bags, but describe them so the number of vehicles can be planned. See our MCO–Port Canaveral and SFB–Port Canaveral guides. Golf groups needing two or more vans should call.
Weddings, events and I-Drive stays
For an event group, provide the pickup time, full address and passenger count for each ride. Call to arrange multiple vans; see our corporate travel page for account inquiries and OCCC guide for conventions. For hotels and parks along the corridor, use our MCO–International Drive and SeaWorld guide.
Children, car seats and strollers
We encourage passengers to bring their own car seats. Car-seat availability varies, so call ahead if you need one. Mention strollers and other equipment when describing your luggage.
Florida’s child-restraint statute, section 316.613, addresses responsibility for child restraints, including hired passenger transportation. Plan an appropriate restraint before traveling; do not assume booking a van includes a child seat.
Wheelchair-accessible vans are different
The seven-seat passenger van is not the wheelchair-accessible vehicle. Our accessible vehicles carry the wheelchair passenger plus up to three companions. Read our wheelchair taxi guide and call to discuss your party and equipment.
Groups larger than seven
More than seven passengers require more than one of our vehicles. A van plus a sedan or two vans may suit the group, depending on luggage and accessibility needs. For two or more vans, it is best to call (407) 222-2222 or (407) 422-2222 to coordinate the request.
Formerly Mears Taxi
The Mears taxi vans many visitors remember are now Yellow Cab of Orlando. (407) 422-2222 still works. Read about the Mears Taxi transition.
Common questions
Can a taxi take seven people from Orlando airport?
Yes. Yellow Cab’s passenger vans seat up to seven, with published room for 6+ standard bags. Actual luggage fit depends on bag sizes. Vans are always in the taxi line at MCO, so ask for one. Airport-stand fares are metered.
Does a van taxi cost more than a sedan?
At MCO’s stands, fares are metered and the airport says the rate does not change with passenger count. From Sanford, our published per-vehicle rates are the same for a sedan, van or wheelchair-accessible vehicle. For other trips, choose Passenger Van in the booking form to see your quote.
Is a taxi van or an XL rideshare better for six or seven people?
Compare capacity and luggage needs. Yellow Cab’s passenger van seats up to seven; UberXL and Lyft XL list up to six riders. Seven people using those XL options need more than one vehicle. Check luggage space separately; this is not a price comparison.
Can I get a van at MCO without booking?
Yes. Vans are always in the taxi line at MCO. Ask the starter or driver for a van; when there is demand, you can ask for a van ahead of sedans. Calling ahead is also fine. No immediate-boarding promise is implied.
Does a taxi fit six people with luggage?
A sedan does not seat six; our passenger van seats up to seven and lists room for 6+ standard bags. Tell us the total bag count and any bulky items so the actual load can be considered.
How many suitcases fit in a taxi van?
Our published capacity is 6+ standard bags, but actual fit depends on bag sizes, passenger count and other equipment. Seven large cases plus strollers is not the same load as six standard bags. Describe your luggage before booking.
Can a van take us to Port Canaveral?
Yes. Use our MCO–Port Canaveral or SFB–Port Canaveral guide for the airport you are using. Give the terminal, passenger count and luggage details. There are no limits on cruise trunks, but the load may require additional vehicles.
What if our group has eight or more people?
You will need more than one of our vehicles. A van plus a sedan or two vans may work, depending on the group and luggage. For two or more vans, it is best to call (407) 222-2222 or (407) 422-2222.
Do you provide car seats?
We encourage passengers to bring their own car seats. Car-seat availability varies, so call ahead if you need one. Do not assume a child seat is included with a passenger-van booking.
Can we bring golf bags, cruise trunks or a stroller?
Yes. There are no limits on golf bags or cruise trunks, but tell us how many you have so the vehicle arrangement can be planned. Mention strollers too. This does not mean every combination fits in one van.
Is the accessible van the same as the seven-seat passenger van?
No. Our wheelchair-accessible vehicles carry the wheelchair passenger plus up to three companions. The seven-seat passenger van is a different vehicle. Call to discuss accessibility needs.
Do I need to book a van in advance?
You can walk up and ask for a van at MCO’s taxi line. Booking online or calling ahead lets you communicate your group’s plans and needs. For two or more vans, call to arrange the request.
Can a van take a wedding or event group?
Yes, with up to seven passengers per passenger van, subject to luggage fit. Provide the pickup time, address and group details. Call to coordinate additional vans for larger groups.
